Winner of the Farming Environment Award
Gold for Eyebrook
Colleagues at Eyebrook Wild Bird Feeds were delighted to win Gold for Farming and the Environment Award at the Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards. It was a thrill for them to win the award which celebrates the great work of farmers in the Weetabix Growers Group, all farming in the most sustainable way, whilst supporting environmental initiatives.
Support from local farmers
The Farming Environment Award was sponsored by Weetabix. Weetabix buys all its wheat from within a 50-mile radius of its factory in Burton Latimer. Their farmers take demonstrable action to reduce the environmental impact of growing wheat through carbon footprint education, promoted wildlife and regenerative agriculture.
Heartfelt enthusiasm for birds and wildlife
The judges were most impressed with Phil’s heartfelt enthusiasm for birds and wildlife, and how this enthusiasm has passed down the generations. The way the farm is entrenched in the community and educates the public was also a great contribution to the win.
Wonderful awards ceremony – well done!
A wonderful evening was had by all at the awards ceremony held at the Royal & Derngate theatre. The awards celebrated businesses producing some amazing products, and championed organisations supporting their local communities.
