Harborough Singers Head for a Sell Out!
Singers and a Redgrave heads for sell-out
The Harborough Singers Christmas Concert with celebrity guest Jemma Redgrave is heading for a sell-out. Jemma, renowned actress and fourth-generation member of the famous Redgrave acting dynasty, had been due to appear with the choir at the same concert last year, until Covid very sadly caused the event to be called off at the last-minute.
Very popular tickets
As a result, tickets for this year’s show are going like the proverbial hot cakes. The centre nave at St. Dionysius Church in Market Harborough was sold out within a week of tickets going on sale, and while this isn’t unusual, to be sold out in mid-November is an unexpected and startling first for the local choir.
“We’re absolutely delighted,”said Harborough Singers Chairman Tim Blades. “We haven’t been able to do a Christmas Concert at St. Di’s for three long years and we’ve missed it so much. For all of us, and for our audience, this concert traditionally marks the start of the Christmas festivities. The disappointment of last year was truly horrible and it’s going to be so good to be back this year.”
Working together, choir, audience, and Jemma will create and enjoy a magical evening of Christmas songs, Carols and readings, ranging from the exquisitely beautiful to the humorous and roof-raising. Musical Director will be Charlie Penn and the accompanist Andrew King.
The concert will took place on Saturday 17 December, 7:30pm at St Dionysius Church, Market Harborough. Although the centre nave is sold out, tickets for the side aisles and balconies, all £8, were still available (prior to this item going online.)
