Again, dear reader, heartfelt thanks for all your help and support throughout the year.

We continue to raise funds to extend the treatment area in the Chemotherapy Suite at the LRI to enable many more patients to receive their cancer treatment. Our next fundraising event is a Clutter Sale at the Railway on Friday/Saturday 21/22 April. Items can be donated at the Railway between 4-9pm on Thursday 20 April.

Open Gardens

The Open Gardens event at Smeeton Westerby will be on Sunday 2 July. If anyone would like to open their garden for the day or to help in any way please contact either me at lyn.gemscharity@gmail.com or 07715 114137 or ring Andy or Edd at the Kings Head, Smeeton on (0116) 2792676. A meeting to discuss this will be held on Wednesday 17 May at 7o’clock at the Kings Head. All welcome. Any tombola prizes will be greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the Kings Head. Many thanks to Anne for all her support over the years, and to Andy and Edd for continuing the pub’s fundraising efforts.

Our annual Golf Tournament will be held at Glen Gorse Golf Club on Friday 18 August. Entry for a team of four is £180 which includes bacon butties at the start and a meal afterwards. For further details contact Fred on 07763 116049, Kelvin on 07871 025551 or email me or the GEMS charity.

The Railway Arms will be holding a two-day event over the Coronation weekend and there will also be a fun day at the Crown in Fleckney on 10 June. Please support them if you can.
