Welcome Back
Friday, 5th May was not only the start of the celebrations for the King’s Coronation but also the return of the Welcome Kitchen.
The team had been successful with an application for funding from Harborough District Council’s Coronation Grants. A total of £480 was awarded with some of the funds used to support this special event.
The room was laid out as a street party with a wide selection of sandwiches, cakes and sausage rolls all freshly prepared by the team. Thirty five members of both Harcourt and Beauchamp community joined the event to celebrate this very special occasion.
There was background period music with tea and coffee in plentiful supply. The room was filled with conversation, laughter and satisfaction. Feedback on the day confirmed a heartfelt demand for this community service to continue.
The team: Beverley, Bruce, David, Della, Geraldine, Jane, Jenny, John and Keith plan to start up the Welcome Kitchen again from October.
