Fantastic Fun for all the Family at Foxton Locks
Over 900 people came along on 15 August to see what Foxton Locks has to offer.
Many didn’t want to leave, even after a full day out! Children and adults enjoyed the craft activities, pond dipping, a fairy trail, and canoeing to name a few of the many activities on offer – all run by volunteers who on other days are there to welcome visitors, lead guided walks, run the bookshop, or maintain the grounds and locks.
Being able to climb into a police car and a fire engine was also a great draw for kids young and old! If you missed it don’t worry – the fairy trail is still there (go to the bookshop for a map) and there are discovery boards showing animal pawprints (and other signs).
Canoeing taster sessions can be booked online.
Future events include a Craft Fair on 21 October (all day again) and a stargazing evening on 13 November. But don’t wait until then – you can enjoy a visit to Foxton Locks on any day.Marie-Anne Beere
