In accordance with his wishes, several members of the band played at the funeral of their President Jack Perbedy. Also attending were two members of the Royal Marines Band who played the Last Post.
On a happier note, the Band, in collaboration with The Well, Kibworth, played a Proms concert to a capacity audience at the Old Grammar School Hall on 24 September. There was plenty of flag waving and general enjoyment and the Band look forward to a repeat performance next year.
During the next few weeks the Band will be concentrating their efforts on their chosen test piece for the forthcoming LBBA contest in Loughborough, when they will be competing against 11 other bands.
