Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from all of us at Fleckney & Kibworth Running Club. It was a busy end to 2023 for team F&K with various races, and festive runs to report.
Holly Hayes Wood XC
On Sunday 26 November a few of our runners took on the challenging 5.5 miles Holly Hayes Cross Country Race through the scenic woodlands in Whitwick. 1st home for the club was Bernadette Owen with an impressive time of 53:01, John Redfearn (57:39),Emma Boyd (58:51), Steve West (59:44) and Jenny McNair (1:16:37). Well done everyone.
Salcey Forest 10K
A great event to kick off the festive calendar. On Saturday 9 December two of our runners completed the Salcey 10K trail race in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. Well done to Steve West with a time of 1:03:23 and Tracey Coates(1:15:26). Great running both!
Continuing in the festive spirit team F&K enjoyed a fancy dress Christmas lights run on Tuesday 12 December. Starting from Victoria Park and jogging through Leicester City Centre, it was great to see all the lights and decorations along the way. Always a popular event as we approach the end of the year.
Couch to 5K
Our Couch to 5K has also made a good start, with plenty of new runners joining our free programme in January. For anyone interested in giving it a go please contact the club using the details below. It’s a great way to improve fitness and a great introduction to running.
