Fleckney and Kibworth Running Club – March 2024
Fleckney and Kibworth Running Club have had a busy month with a variety of events, awards and races.
Representing the club overseas was Emma Moore who successfully completed the Barcelona Half Marathon in 2:40:11.
The Prestwold Half Marathon was completed by Lorna Muskett in 1:37:21, coming 4th in her age category and Sorcha Paget in 2:52:34.
Representing the club at Cambridge Half Marathon was Steve West who crossed the line with a PB of 2:29:24.
The very muddy Pitsford Trail 10k (hosted by Race Harborough) was well-attended by the club.
First in was Adam Niblett (53:29) who came first in his age category; followed by Jo Wood (1:04), Barbara Blunt (1:10), Andy Kemp (1:11), Emma Moore (1:17), Gary Lawrence (1:25), Tracey Coates (1:36) and Ruth Hughes (1:36).
Completing the XC season was a solo effort from Jim Hawley at Bosworth XC, who completed a boggy run in 177th place.
Dan Pedley tackled the Leicester 10k, coming in with a fantastic PB of 53:31. Abby Jackson has reached a superb milestone of 250 Parkruns; celebrating with several of the club at Market Harborough Parkrun.
The Couch to 5K programme is nearing the end with a successful uptake of dedicated and resilient new runners. We are so proud of everyone!
The club’s annual awards took place this month at The Black Horse in Foxton, with well-deserved awards going to:-
Best male performance – Pete Bennett
Best male athlete – Alex Prettyman
Most improved male – Gary Lawrence
Most improved female – Jo Wood
Best female performance and best female athlete – Bernie Owen
Club member of the year – Steve West
Jo Thacker Memorial Trophy – Tracey Coates
