Leicestershire Cheerleading Squad win Gold at the All Star World Championships
What is better than one medal? Two! Jessica Savage, a seventeen year old cheerleader from Kibworth, is celebrating this double success with her cheerleading squads from ‘Elite Storm’ along with their coaches Leanne and Ellie.
On Friday April 19 they took part in the final of ‘All Star World Championships’ in Florida USA. After winning bids which enabled them to get to the semi-finals, Jessica and her Level 2, Under 19 team ’Rampage’ won the silver medal. Then ‘Extreme’, which is an Under 19, Level 1 team brought home the gold making them ‘All Star World Champions’ for their division.
In the UK Jessica and her squads will soon be taking part in two further cheerleading competitions at Loughborough University in June and Bournemouth International Centre in July.
‘Elite Storm’ train on Fosse Road South and have been running for fifteen years and ‘Rampage’ and ‘Extreme ‘are the first teams to win bids to the competition. They fundraised £20,000 to make sure all the girls could go.
Well done all!
