Artisan Fayre: An Insight
Well what can I say, my dream has become a reality. My name is Donna and I am the owner of Artisan Fayre in Kibworth, Leicestershire, and I love colour, up-cycling and re-cycling and for most of my life I have always had a creative flair.
Around six years ago I started designing my own jewellery using re-cycled items such as plates, slate, crystal, china, tin and discarded vintage pieces.
My journey to where we are today started at craft fairs, events and shows, which further fuelled my passion to start up-cycling furniture and making things into one off unique pieces. Then COVID descended upon us and all of my events were cancelled.
This did not deter me, in fact I looked upon the pandemic as a blessing in disguise as it inspired me to look deeper into my creative side and I started to produce new art and craft designs. Picking up painting again with acrylics, either on canvass, old pieces of wood, slate, shells and pebbles, to lovely flowers made from crepe paper, ‘eternal blooms’ that look so real.
My creativity has now become an obsession, and I decided to open Artisan Fayre in Kibworth, so here I am, one big craft fair all under one roof. Lovely items permanently on display.
My passion is also shared with other crafters in the local community, some of who now showcase their items in the shop.
Since the beginning, Artisan Fayre has received lots of support and encouragement from the local and wider area, real people that share my passion for producing homemade crafts. In the very near future, Artisan Fayre will be hosting crafts clubs, workshops and children’s crafting.
