The Very Affordable Art Fair :-
Hello, I’m David Walker-Smith, Trustee at the Kibworth Community Hub. Many of you will know Pat Porteous from Kibworth Art Lovers. Pat recently showed me programmes from the incredible Festivals that Kibworth used to hold, the Festival of Angels and a wonderful concert of Jesus Christ Superstar in St.Wilfrid’s church.
It made me think that now is the time to once again have a Kibworth Art Festival; so why not start with a celebration of very affordable local art? We are delighted to be holding this on Friday 4 October and Saturday 5 October at Kibworth Community Hub.
We are working with the fabulous Left to Draw Studio based in Market Harborough with seven of their artists including Alex Cooper, a contestant from sky Arts Portrait of the Year 2021; Kibworth Art Lovers, Fine Art and fashion students from De Monfort University and Art and Design students from Northampton College; and local artists from Harborough Artist Cluster including Lis Naylor and Leicester Art Society. We are also very proud to be working with Kibworth’s Reg Cartwright, a contemporary still life and landscape renowned painter. It’s going to be incredible.
On Friday 4 October is a dinner for 50 guests at £29 a head prepared by local chef, Jenny Legg. Prosecco on arrival with hors d’oeuvres, soup, coq au vin and a fabulous dessert. This preview evening will be a chance to view the Art and make early purchases.
Saturday 5 October is open to everyone from 10am till 4pm to buy local Art at Kibworth Community Hub. Entrance is free and tea, coffee and cake will be served by The Welcome Kitchen.
