All Heart!

There was a knock at my front door today and it was Rosie Jarvis, one of the superb local artists who had exhibited at the inaugural Kibworth Art Fair on 4 and 5 October. She had brought us a ‘thank you’ card. What amazing feedback she gave and a grateful thanks that “fantastic local art was once again being exhibited and sold in Kibworth.”

The team worked around the clock to get the Art Fair up and ready, the slats painted and the lighting just right. We had hung nearly 100 pieces of art all from Kibworth and surrounding areas. The table was laid for the gala dinner and flowers arranged, which had kindly been donated by M&S Oadby. We lit 100 tea lights down the tables, the music went on, we were ready! The meal prepared for nearly 40 people, by Jenny Webb, was brilliant. We also interviewed between courses Stacey Barthorpe from Left to Draw, Nan Whiteway from Kibworth Art Lovers and Rosie Jarvis from Harborough Artists Cluster. It was a great evening and great fun.

On the Saturday, we had to open the doors 15 mins early, as there was a small queue outside. The kettle wasn’t even on.

First out the door was a huge oil painting called ‘Skyward Glance’ by Sarah Boddy and next a wonderful print by Henrietta Corbett ‘Horse with Fallen Tree.’ The hall and the till buzzed until we closed at 4pm. We were so proud to sell so many pieces. We did it!

Geraldine and I, on behalf of the trustees of The Kibworth Community hub, would like to thank everyone that supported us, the Artists who put their work in our trust, The Welcome Kitchen for running such a great café and baking such delicious cakes, and everyone who came to visit and shop.

We will be doing this again! Watch this space!
