Our Season 2024

It’s over. We can’t believe it. Players are gutted, players knees and aching backs perhaps less so.

The First team played some good but inconsistent cricket to finish mid-table. We have an improving second team toyed with promotion but couldn’t quite get there. Our two mid week sides played some explosive cricket.

Whilst our Sunday side captured hearts with their social and friendly attitude but wins were a little more scarce than they would have liked. The women’s softball-cricket side flourished and performed brilliantly in their tournaments. 

The real joy of the season however was the emergence of some of our Juniors who are now able to dip their toes into Senior cricket.  Seasoned players now have a first-hand look at what retirement looks like and the future is looking bright indeed. The junior age group teams for ‘All Stars’ and ‘Dynamos’ cricket had exceptional growth in numbers and some fantastic performances on the field.

Any organisation is, however, dependant on its members and its volunteers. So, if cricket is your thing or maybe you think it might be, there is a place for you at Fleckney Village CC. Male or female; age 5 to nearly 80. Email mailto:fvcc1975@gmail.com to find out more.
