Tur Langton Parish Council Meeting – Sep ’24
10 September
We started the meeting by warmly welcoming our new Clerk Katy Ward. We discussed many issues, the more relevant ones are below.
Firstly, it was decided to make a donation to the Royal British Legion of £25 for Remembrance Sunday. There will be a defibrillator awareness evening held in the village hall on Thursday 24 September at 6.30. This will cover how to recognise the signs of a heart attack and to give confidence in using a defibrillator. Limited places are available. If you are interested, please message or call Debbie Molyneux on 07854 734 671 to book a place.
There will be a discussion with Open Reach to try to extend the fibre broadband connection. This is in collaboration with Foxton, Church Langton, East Langton and Stonton Wyville. The aim being to ensure faster broadband for all residents. This is as a result of a few properties in Tur Langton that are currently unable to connect to the fibre network.
In addition, EV chargers for the village hall car park are in consideration and we are looking into funding for this. The Parish Council will work with the Village Hall Committee to progress possibility.
We are putting together a list of important trees within our Parish and we would like to hear from anyone with an interest in planting trees or who has a tree to add to our list.
Furthermore, we are looking to appoint a volunteer flood warden for the village.
Next meeting will be on the Tuesday 12 November.
