From IT to Afternoon Tea
Christmas is Linda Scott’s busiest time of the year, as the ‘Baked at Halcyon’ kitchen fills with delicious smells of Christmas baking.
In 2020, after 20+ years in the IT industry as a Business Development Manager, Linda was craving a professional change.
The advent of Covid saw Linda take to baking cakes for friends and neighbours. Linda’s neighbours would often leave bags of flour on the doorstep to be rewarded with cake left on theirs. During this period Linda spent long days (and nights!) in the kitchen. Refining her baking skills to start her artisan bakery business, which now enjoys a steadily growing base of loyal customers.
Linda uses only the finest quality ingredients in her bakes and says, “You really can taste the difference. So many celebration cakes can be style over substance. I believe that if a cake looks amazing, then it should taste amazing too.”
Four years on, Baked at Halcyon now boasts a five-star hygiene rating and provides celebration cakes, vintage afternoon teas and event catering.
