Rotary Charity Fireworks 2024

Rotarian Robert Easthope gave a sigh of relief as the firework display ended on Friday 1 November. After last year’s cancellation and the difficulties encountered we changed our venue to higher ground. Robert Easthope, and his committee, were determined to run the event again. Fortunately it was a fine evening and around 1.500 folk arrived, sampling the hot food and drinks provided, before the display.

The Scouts and Guides sold hot dogs, drinks and glow sticks, this event being traditionally one of their main fundraisers.

All were treated to a spectacular firework display by Brightsparks fireworks and folk wandered home at about 8pm. We hope the local residents were OK with the inconvenience.

We are pleased to report that we made a healthy profit and the money will go to support local youngsters and Rotary projects in the area of Kibworth and Fleckney.

Thanks go to Kibworth Golf Club and Martin Anderson, head green keeper and his team. Also to the ticket outlets; the Swan in Kibworth, Fleckney Library, & especially the Kibworth Post Office. We also thank Dave Scott, Liberty Graphics for providing the banners and signage.

We will take on board any feedback we received, positive or negative, with a view to repeating the event next year.

Finally, we thank all those who attended and hope everyone had a great night out.
