Spinners Table Tennis
The Spinners go from strength to strength with four teams in the Leicestershire League and two in the Junior League. Spinners members Jack Feakes and Lennon Devlin were each part of winning teams of the B & H Table Tennis Competition, and will progress to the finals later in November.
In the Senior League, there was a hard-fought match for Fleckney 2 against Winstanley Wizards not reflected in the final scoreline. Mike Wilson got his first double of the season. 10 year old Omar Morsy won his first match against Desford 3 and Naresh Shah and Jan Green both won games in a match against Knighton Park (KP) 14. Bob Palmer and Jan Green had an heroic win in the doubles to gain Fleckney 4’s second point of the season. James Robertson won two of his three matches for Fleckney 1 against KP12.
It was a close contest against Desford Village 3 for Fleckney 3, with wins for Mike Miles and Jan Green, and they won the doubles as well. Fleckney 4 had a welcome first win at the end of October with a maximum for Ethan Li on his 16th birthday, and a win for James Feakes. Unsurprisingly, Fleckney 1 beat Fleckney 2. Fleckney 1 played a blinder against the Winstanley Wizards’ fourth team with great performances from James Robertson, Andy Haddon and Callum Harbidge.
Every Monday night (including 23 and 30 December!) there will be coaching for beginners at 6.45 – 7.30pm, and, for improvers, at 7.30 – 8.15pm with free play thereafter until 9pm.
