Defibrillators – Where Are They?
It has been suggested by Andy Wright at The Well that the Kibworth & District Chronicle might provide, at the very least, an up to date list of locations where a publicly accessible defibrillator may be located. Ideally it needs to accessible for 24 hours a day and seven days a week. We have received some details from our regular contributors. Thank you.
Within the three villages of Kibworth Beauchamp, Kibworth Harcourt and Smeeton we know of at least six places where in an emergency a defibillator can be accessed and therefore could save someone’s life. However there may be others we do not know about and what about in all the other villages in our distribution area? Is there one in your K6 red redundant telephone box or is this now sporting a small library instead? Do you know if your defibrillator is registered with thecircuit.uk (The National Defibrillator Network)?
We would like to produce a definitive list for 2025 early next year, preferably in January with locations as a service to our community.
Please consider letting us know if you know of the location of the defibrillator nearest you and whether it is accessible by the general public. It certainly doesn’t matter if more than two people advise us – better than no one. We await your response.
Send full details to theeditor@kibworthchronicle.com or just write it down and pop it in the Chronicle box in Kibworth Post Office. Deadline is Wednesday 8 January 2025.
Thank you for your help.
