Seasonal Greetings from Kibworth Fire Station!
As the festive season approaches, the Kibworth crew is once again embracing the Christmas spirit and is thrilled to announce that Santa and Rudolph will join them for a special tour of the village on Monday 23 December, continuing our jolly annual tradition. The festive parade to raise much needed funds for local charities will start from Kibworth Fire Station at 1800hrs, and we warmly invite you and your family to join in the fun. Whether you walk alongside the crew or cheer from the sidelines, your participation is greatlyencouraged! With a busy few weeks ahead, Rudolph and Santa may need a few mince pies and carrots to keep their energy levels up for the journey. Full route details will be shared closer to the date on the Station’s Facebook page.
This year has been an eventful one for Kibworth Station. At the start of the year, we provided vital support during the severe floods, in addition to responding to a wide range of emergencies, including road traffic collisions, domestic and commercial property fires, and multiple field fires. We’ve also attended several major incidents and large industrial fires in the city, demonstrating our commitment to keeping not just our village but the wider community safe. Alongside our emergency response, we have prioritised education by delivering targeted fire safety sessions, conducting home safety checks, and engaging with groups like the 1st Kibworth Scout Group, local schools, and residential homes. Through hands-on activities, we’ve helped young people understand fire safety and the importance of planning an escape route.
Being an On-Call Firefighter is a vital role in supporting Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service. At Kibworth Station, our team is committed to regular training to ensure that we are always ready to respond when needed. Whilst the role is demanding, it is incredibly rewarding. We are always on the lookout for new recruits to join our dedicated crew. If you live within four to six minutes of the station and are looking for a way to make a real difference in your community, why not consider becoming an On-Call Firefighter? For more information about the role, the application process, or the upcoming Have-A-Go Days, please get in touch with the station.
Wishing everyone in Kibworth and district a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from all the Crew at Kibworth Fire Station.
