As the year draws to a close GEMS charity would like to thank everyone that has supported us and raised money for GEMS throughout the year and we wish them a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.
The year has been a great success for us with the completion of the refurbishment of the Chemotherapy suite at the LRI and is now completely open. We are in talks with the people who run the chemotherapy suite to see what our next project will be, so our fundraising continues.
We would like to thank the committee of the Blaston Agricultural Show for choosing us as one of their main beneficiaries for this year’s show, it was our great pleasure to attend their annual general meeting in November and receive a cheque for £6,000 – an amazing amount.
As next year approaches, we are busy arranging more fundraising activities; our Clutter Sale at The Railway will be held in the spring (date to be confirmed).
We are still looking for willing participants to open their gardens for GEMS in Smeeton Westerby, this is a big money raising event for us so please show your support by opening yours, no Chelsea Show gardens are expected and it will take place on Sunday 22 June.
