Christmas
Three local pubs, The Railway, The Kings Head and The Bulls Head in Clipston kindly agreed to sell tickets for Christmas hampers raising over £470 between them, this is a brilliant amount. Alongside this, The Kings Head carried out a lucky square for a very large bottle of whiskey donated to us; this was drawn on their Burn’s Night raising £245 and won by a Smeeton local ….enjoy!
Book Club
Staying with the Kings Head, local’s meet there once a month to have fun reviewing the book of the month at the Book Club. The founder of Book Club suggested the group members voluntary pop some change into the pot, this is then donated to GEMS at the beginning of the year. This year they donated just over £218 which is so kind and a fab amount; happy reading everyone. Many, Many Thanks to everyone involved, this is a wonderful start to our fundraising this year and very much appreciated.

Clutter Sale 9 & 10th May
The Clutter Sale at The Railway will be held on Friday 9 May and Saturday10 May. Drop off of clutter from 2pm on Thursday 8 May, so plenty of time for you to start sorting!
Smeeton Open Gardens 22nd June
Smeeton Open Gardens will take place on Sunday 22 June. We have a number of gardens involved already; however we are still looking for willing participants to take part please. Don’t worry about how your garden looks, we encourage all types and sizes of gardens and believe there is no garden that ‘isn’t good enough to open’. If you are interested in opening your garden or can donate any plants or cuttings, please email and register your interest to gemscharity@gmail.com
GEMS Golf Day 22nd August
GEMS Golf Day will be held at Glen Gorse Golf Club on Friday 22 August. Teams of four golfers, so have a chat with other keen golfer’s and get the date in your diary now. More details to follow nearer the time.
