Kibworth Art Lovers Society – Feb ’25

The Kibworth Art Lovers Society has been taking a winter break from meetings, but its members have not been idle. Residents using or passing by the Kibworth branch of the Market Harborough Building Society during December may have noticed on the display wall, a large artistic Christmas wreath, created by our committee members.
They fashioned it from a ring of insulation board and attached leaf shapes, cut from magazines and colourful paper. Ribbon and baubles completed the installation and the staff then added a festive fireplace! In January works by Sandra Gamble were on display, followed in February by those of Pamela Webb.

David Dunmore
We are holding our next meeting on Tuesday 25 February, our first of 2025, in Kibworth Community Hub at 7.30pm. Kibworth Art Lovers will be welcoming Local Artist David Dunmore, who will demonstrate his technique of botanical watercolour painting.
David works from his studio in Husbands Bosworth and is a member of the Harborough Artists Cluster, contributing regularly to local exhibitions. Examples of his work is available to view on the Harborough Artist Cluster website where he states:
“A significant part of the inspiration for my botanical paintings comes both from the flowers and blossom which surround me in my own garden together with those which I find in the woods, meadows and hedgerows while out walking. Studies of shells, strand line finds, feathers, butterflies and insects also provide an endless source of inspiration which excite close-focused observation. Watercolour painting is the medium which I enjoy and is best suited to my detailed and illustrative style.”
Members of the Kibworth Art Lovers range from those who are simply interested in art and the creation of art, to those who regularly sketch, paint and exhibit. Our meetings aim to intrigue and inspire artists and observers alike, while our annual exhibition offers our members the opportunity to showcase their talents. We warmly welcome new members and visitors to our monthly meetings. For further information please email: kibworthartlovers@gmail.com
