Kibworth Running Club
ADVANCED EVENT NOTIFICATION
Fleckney & Kibworth Running Club are holding a Leicestershire Road Running League Event.
When: Sunday 16 March
Where: The Race starts outside the Kibworth Mead Academy (High School)
Time: Race starts at 10.30am, we are expecting runners between 8.30am and 12.30pm.
Route: Starting at Kibworth Mead Academy (High School), through Smeeton Westerby, Saddington,Gumley,Smeeton Westerby and back to the high school.
HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU?
1: Road closure. In order to run the race safely, there is a traffic order in place from High Street Kibworth Beauchamp to Main Street Smeeton Westerby, to be closed for up to 15 minutes from 10.25am. During this time access will be restricted from Kibworth to Smeeton and Smeeton to Kibworth.
There will also be a road closure on the road by the Saddington reservoir with a road diversion in place from the crossroads near to Gumley cricket ground,through Mowsley and back to Saddington. That will be in place from 10.30am for about 60 mins.
2: Parking. Runners will not be able to park near the Kibworth Mead Academy as parking is provided at the main car park on school walk, and Kibworth Cricket Club, but traffic is likely to be busy in the area. We will endeavour to get everything back to normal as soon as possible.
3: Runners. We’re expecting there will be several hundred runners in the area during the morning. The club will have marshals at the main road junctions and along the main street in Smeeton Westerby. Please be aware of runners through this area.
