Leicestershire Police Update – February 2025

Inspector Perry Update

We have had a busy month so far in January….

Stolen vehicles have been recovered in Lutterworth, Fleckney, Oadby, Market Harborough and Wigston. These included work vans, motor vehicles, trailers and horse boxes and the investigations are ongoing.

Several proactive stops under suspicious circumstances have resulted in 13 ‘community resolutions’ for drug offences which are an out of court outcome diverting the offender towards mandatory rehabilitation intervention.

Three persons who had been evading the police wanted on court warrants have been arrested and sent to court.

We experienced severe flooding in several areas across the district and worked with our other emergency services.

Crime prevention events have been held across the districts with items available that are funded by the community safety partnership. Our PCSOs have delivered personal safety and crime prevention talks to several communities such as St Paul’s church, Wigston Academy, Tesco Express Oadby, Oadby Gurdwara and beat surgeries have taken place across the area which provide a chance for you to speak with your local PCSOs.

Much of the work carried out to keep residents of the district safe happens behind the scenes and often on a screen, so you may not always see the officers on a daily basis, but it does not mean they’re not working hard to keep you safe.
