League Results

January ended with a comprehensive 10/0 victory for Fleckney Spinners-1 (FS1) against Winstanley-5 and 4 points in the bag, but pride comes before a fall – a 9 to 1 loss against FS2 against Knighton Park-12 (KP12). Fleckney-4 lost to KP14 but our two under-13 players, Omar Morsy and Lennon Devlin, really had them worried in the first game of the doubles, and Omar brought home a well-earned point. FS3 lost 1/9 to KP13 with a noble effort from Jan Green bringing us yet another point. FS3 lost 6/4 to KP14 in a close match with both Jan Green and Jan Nix bringing us well-earned points.

February started with a very friendly and good-humoured evening in which FS4 lost 7/3 to Desford-3 with some much improved play from Rob Logan. On the same night, Fleckney-1 beat KP12 (7/3) with Andy Haddon on fire. FS2 lost to Winstanley Wizards 4/6 with Kerry Walters securing a point for us in his first win, and Mike Wilson triumphing over a heck of a good player. Leicester Tennis Club fielded a strong team resulting in a loss for Rob Logan, Bob Palmer and James Feakes, with a win in the doubles securing us a valued point. On 12/02/25, there was a home derby with FS2 and FS1 pitted against each other, and the inevitable 1/9 win for FS1. Fleckney-3 lost 3/7 to Desford-3 but there were some incredibly close matches.

Well done to Jan Nix and Jan Green for getting us another point. FS1 is well within touch near the top after almost overwhelming their own second team 9/1 when Andy Haddon and Callum Harbidge both emerged undefeated while Drew Harbidge won two. FS2 lost narrowly to Winstanley Wizards-5 with Kerry Walters starring for us. Fleckney-1 lost 6/4 to Winstanley Wizards-4 in a close game, and our own fourth and third teams competed with FS4 holding FS3 to a 5/5 draw. FS3 gained a point with a maximum for Jan Green and Narendra Shah winning two of his three matches against Leicester Tennis Club.
