Fleckney Village Cricket Club – Mar ’25

Fleckney Village Cricket Club

This year is Fleckney Village Cricket Club’s 50th year, and a lot is going on.

Off the pitch, our historian is spending their weekends at the Fleckney Library pouring over old copies of the ‘Fleckney Communicata’.

The most impressive stat found was Shaun Bothwell’s 10 wickets for 21 runs at Stapleton in August 1986 – as it stands these are the best bowling figures in the club’s history.

On the training pitch, the hardballers and softballers are both getting set for the new seasons. The 1st team is led by Matt Short, the 2nd team is led by Yakesh Sachdev, and the Softball side is led by Lucy Bateman—all proud Fleckney residents.

Spreading the 50th birthday love, a party visited Harborough Town for their match against Biggleswade Town at the end of February. Harborough’s youth section is celebrating its 50th birthday as well.
