Kibworth Mead Academy Spring 2025

We have had a really positive Spring term so far at KMA.
Monday 3 March was National Offer day when families across the country found out which secondary school their child would be attending. We were delighted that so many families have chosen to send their Year 6 child to be part of our community. The new Year 7 looks set to be our largest year group in September! We have written to all families who were successful in getting a place at KMA to wish them a warm welcome as they join us in September, and to share with them our extensive plans to support their child’s successful transition.
On the field
It has also been a really positive term on the sports field. Our students have competed in a range of sports including football, netball, badminton, rugby and basketball. Highlights included our Year 8/9 girls, who have progressed so far to Round 5 in the National Cup, down to the last 32 schools in the country. Last week they beat Ousedale School, Milton Keynes, in a thrilling 2-2 battle, taking it all the way to penalties where the girls held their nerve to secure the win.
On the stage
This half term also heralds the final rehearsals for ‘Matilda’, our much-awaited musical. This will be performed at Kibworth Grammar School Hall on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 April, including a special matinee performance for Kibworth Primary School. Our school building has been echoing with songs and enthusiastic foot stomping after hours as students support each other to practise their lines. Tickets will be available for parents via the MCAS app. If members of the wider community would like to attend please contact the school via email.
Our school values
As we head towards Easter students who have upheld the school’s values will be recognised with a number of exciting reward events. Over 450 of our students are set to achieve bronze reward status this term, earning a ‘Film in the Hall‘ event with refreshments. In addition, 400 of our stunning students have been awarded silver reward status. Their reward will be to attend an inflatable, giant game and slush machine event. It is amazing to see so many of our students being rewarded for demonstrating the school’s values. We are extremely proud to host our biggest set of rewards to date.
