The Village Hall

We are delighted to announce that our CoCo mornings have started up again. Held on the third Wednesday of the month between 10.30am and 12.00pm. It was really lovely to see so many people joining us. As the weather improves and we can once again use our beautiful little garden, I am sure we will see many more people from the surrounding villages joining us, either as they take a ‘doggy walking’ stop or just decide to pop in for free refreshments!

Our next Village Hall venture is to be held on Friday 2 May, 7 for 7.30pm. This will be our Village Variety Show. We will, of course, be serving supper and this will be followed by funny sketches, readings, songs, music etc. It should be a fun family evening  so why not join us. To reserve a place please contact Philippa on 01162793841 or 07748878027. Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for children. Tickets include supper and we ask that you bring your own drinks and glasses.

Other dates for your diaries are our Murder Mystery Supper Nights on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 June. Once again, you watch two scenes of a play where a murder takes place and through a variety of clues and the chance to interrogate all the suspects, you are then asked to decide who you think the murderer is and how they committed the heinous crime. There is always supper and of course a prize for the winner. Why not pop these dates in your diaries too? There will be more information on how to reserve tickets in the next Kibworth and District Chronicle.

The Village Sign

One other venture that is gaining pace, is the erection of a village sign on the green area by the apple trees and the bench in the centre of the village. We have whittled down several designs and are soon looking to complete the order. Boundary signs are then going to be under discussion to make the entrance to our village more obvious and inviting. You may have noticed that our speed signs are in place, encouraging drivers to go through our village at a sensible speed. With two narrow bends which struggle to let two on coming cars pass, and the long, straight Saddington Hill down which many cars speed, we do hope that the speed signs will be taken notice of before other more intrusive deterrents have to be put in place.

Christ Church

We are holding a special Mothers’ Day Service on Sunday 30 March, when during the service, the children give out posies to all the ladies (and gentlemen) in the congregation. This is always a beautiful service and one not to miss.

The other services in our lovely Church continue to follow the usual pattern. The first Sunday of the month is our communion service; the second Sunday, our, warm friendly family service and the third Sunday, our morning service. It would be lovely to welcome to these services, people not only from our own village but also from further afield, so why not give it a try? You will definitely receive a warm welcome and we have excellent refreshments afterwards!

The Kings Head

On Saturday 29 March, there is going be  a ‘Vinyl Records Night’ when you can take along your favourite 12” LPs and play your favourite side of an album. Nachos will be available too.

Then on Wednesday 2 April there will be another Live Jazz at the King’s Head Jazz Club! A night not to miss!

After the successful “meet the Brewer” evening with the Grainstore Brewery, Edd and Andrew are planning to hold another event during April to celebrate the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates ‘Indie Beer Week11 – 20 April

More details to follow.
