Open Gardens in April

Tresillian House 67 Dalby Road, Melton Mowbray LE13 0BQ opens on Sunday 13 April. 11am-4pm.
0.75 acres with cowslips and spring bulbs and many unusual plants and shrubs. There will be hellebores in flower, camellia, and a striking fallen laburnum which lies at a 45-degree angle. The pond will have iris and king buttercups in flower providing lots of spring colour. A wide range of refreshments will be on sale.
Westbrooke House, Little Bowden, Market Harborough, LE16 8AX open Sunday 27 April,
10am -4.30pm. Here six acres of garden, including mature lime and redwood trees, a walled-garden and a wildlife pond. For the April opening in leaf will be acers, hostas, rhododendrons with dog tooth violets, primroses and narcissus. Over 10,000 tulips will provide a spectacular display, which this year features bold oranges and yellows. A white wisteria will be coming into bloom and there is access to the bluebell wood.
