Coach & Horses Re-Opens
During a recent Wednesday walkabout, my brother and I were fascinated to notice colourful umbrellas in the outdoor seating enclosure of the Coach and Horses – yes Kibworth’s 18th Century Coaching Inn is back in business.
Being both curious and thirsty we went in and enjoyed a beer and met Sean, the new tenant. He is tall and has to mind his head on the low beams between the adjoining bars!
However the whole environment is congenial and cosy and has benefitted from recent re-decoration, offering a comfortable and welcoming venue. Complementing the open air seating outside, the main bar features the original inglenook fireplace stacked with logs and looking very inviting for winter.
Becoming the Heart of the Community
Sean would like The Coach and Horses to become the pub at the heart of the community hosting seasonal events and with Easter approaching the extensive dining menu looks very attractive. In addition to Sunday lunches there will be family fun days, raffles, music days and quizzes.
There is a snug area off the main bar, accessible by the back door and a charming dining room where the full menu should satisfy all tastes. Appetizers followed by fish or meat dishes and tasty puddings are all there together with curries, burgers and children’s portions. Coffee and tea to follow are only £1.95.
Open 7 days a week!
The Coach and Horses is open seven days per week and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Phone 0116 348 6871 0r 07490 141441.
