There is no harm in repeating a good thing.” – Plato

It’s not often we have to bring back a talk because it has completely sold out, in fact, we’ve never done it. But this year we are having to repeat two talks because of their popularity!

Susie Pasley-Tyler, owner and gardener-in-chief of the beautiful Coton Manor, will be returning to talk about her gardening life and book “Gardening in Colour at Coton Manor” on Thursday 15 May.

Our Local History Season talk Kibworth and the Black Death, has also proved to be very popular and is being rerun on Thursday 12 June.

Both talks are being held in the evening, doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets are £6 and include a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Rutland’s Ospreys – talk

This month we have a talk about the wonderful Rutland’s Ospreys with Alan Bennett, a volunteer at Rutland Water. It is on Tuesday 29 April. This is a lunchtime talk and doors open at 1.45pm for a 2pm start. Tickets are £6 and include delicious savoury snacks.

VE Day 80th anniversary

On 8 May, we mark the historic 80th anniversary of VE Day, to celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe. In the library we will have WW2 memorabilia on display during opening hours from Tuesday 6 till Friday 9 May. Please see the separate article here if you think you have something that you could lend to us for the display.

May’s Book Sale

May’s Book Sale will be on Saturday 10 May from 10am till 12pm. We are always so grateful to those of you who donate books. Kibworth Community Library is completely volunteer run and receives no outside funding, so every penny we make goes to keeping us open!
