April & May Open Gardens

The very popular garden at Westbrooke House at Little Bowden, Market Harborough, LE16 8AX opens twice in April and May.

On 27 April it opens between 10-4.30 with six acres of garden. The garden includes mature lime and redwood trees, a walled garden and a wildlife pond. For the April on display will be acers, hostas, rhododendrons with dog tooth violets, primroses and narcissi. Over 10,000 tulips will provide a spectacular display, which this year features bold oranges and yellows. A white wisteria will be coming into bloom and there is access to the bluebell wood. The garden opens again on 25 May 10-4.30. Early perennials will be in flower and many trees will be in full leaf and colour.

A new garden is opening for the first time on Sunday 4 May 11-5 at Tudor House, Great Bowden LE16 7HE. A one-acre family garden which features woodland, lawns, a greenhouse, pond, fire pit, sculptures and an oak framed pavilion together with a new vegetable patch and fruit cage.

On 26 May Westview in Great Glen, LE8 9EH opens between 11-4pm. This is an organically managed, small-walled garden with many unusual colourful perennials. Also features a courtyard garden, alpines, a wildlife pond and greenhouse, a vegetable plot and a water feature.
