So, we’ve been open for barely two months  and we’re closed again for lockdown 2.0! It couldn’t come at a worse time for retailers. Especially for those of us in our first year of trading and unable to access any form of government support. But keeping everyone safe is the priority. So closure of our little shop at Pennbury Farm in Great Glen has prompted us to launch our online shop sooner than planned and it’s now live! 

During an unusual year, Dan O’Hara, Laboratory Manager at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, celebrated his 10 years’ service anniversary. 

Faced with the dilemma of what to do about the Covid pandemic, I decided to help out by delivering fresh produce boxes whilst the supermarkets weren’t an option and to keep busy and active. 

In an unusual year, Edmonds & Slatter Opticians were very pleased to have been able to hold their annual charity golf day this September in aid of local charity, The Bodie Hodges Foundation.

For 42 years Colin has  been working as an apprentice at the Fleckney Butchers. We are pleased to announce that he has passed his apprenticeship under David Williams and has now joined the Bridge 67 team as head butcher!

 As life slowly reverts to what could be the new normal, the full lockdown of Spring 2020 becomes a distant memory…

Paper House opened on 26 August, fresh out of lockdown, at Pennbury Farm, Stretton Road, Great Glen.

The first cohort of a new course, to train dog owners to Canicross in Kibworth, with their four legged friends, graduated this week, and they are now taking to tracks and fields to practice their new learned skills.

Local independent opticians Edmonds and Slatter opened its doors for routine eye care on Monday 22^nd June as restrictions started to ease, including for the first time at their new Kibworth practice. However, in the last few months their team offered an emergency eye care and eyewear service to assist key workers, vulnerable residents and anyone else that needed urgent support.
