In landlocked Leicestershire it seems strange to be writing about the RNLI. This volunteer organisation not only looks after our shoreline it also often oversees some of our inland lakes and water holes. There are 40,000 water holes. Saddington Reservoir is just one.

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital held a table top sale on Saturday 8 June, in Kibworth Village Hall, LE8 0LN, from 10am until 12.45pm. Sales will also be held on Saturday 10 August, Saturday 14 September, Saturday 12 October and Saturday 9 November.

Following the success of the Leicester Comedy Festival Event in February at the Kibworth Community Hub, the Kibworth & Fleckney Rotary Club was able to donate over £1500 to the Leicester Musical Memory Box (LMMB).

We reported in the March edition of the Chronicle that we had reached our current target to extend and refurbish the chemotherapy unit at the LRI, thanks to all the support we have locally, and that our fundraising to make the patients more comfortable during their cancer treatment would continue.
