Millions of Christians all over the world began marking the start of an important period of time back on Wednesday 14 February.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims won’t eat or drink during the hours of daylight. This is called fasting. Children are not expected to fast until they reach puberty, usually around the age of 14.

Over half the world’s population depends on groundwater for their drinking water and nearly half of all water for crop irrigation. In our country, water for crop irrigation in times of drought has been a real problem for our farmers too.

Things are starting to pick up on the canal and at the locks, helped by an unusually mild spell of spring weather and the days getting a bit longer. The Canal & River Trust have been fighting the elements with excess water everywhere. Many trees are down across the canal and there is damage to towpaths.

Our Allotments will be ten years old this year and the bare field we started with is now a thriving site for flowers, vegetables, fruit and wildlife.

I recently attended the Local Plan exhibition in Kibworth and wish to share my feedback. As a longtime resident of Kibworth and a keen observer of both local and neighbourhood planning efforts, I believe I am in a strong position to provide specific insights regarding the development in Kibworth.
