On 21 July 1924 at 7.46pm a postcard was sent by holidaymakers, who were staying at Byron House, Skegness. It was sent to a Mrs Simpson living in the Leicestershire village of Tur Langton, quoting minimal address details.

East Langton Parish Council feel very honoured to have been chosen by Leicester University to be one of one hundred war memorials they have been visiting since 2018. This was on their ‘Poppy Pilgrimage’ in commemoration of 100 years since the founding of the University.
