New funding allocations for local transport authorities to provide bus service improvements were announced on 19 November 2024 for the 2025/26 financial year. 

Readers of the Neighbourhood Link emails from our local police will have read about this but finally, after more than a year, of Community Speed Watch, lobbying and chasing, there is to be a 12-18 month period for police camera vans to be based on the A6 through the Kibworths to check the speeds of passing vehicles. Two locations have been identified on the A6 either side of the Wistow Road roundabout.

We have experienced some wet weather recently. Leicestershire residents are urged to be ‘flood aware’ and to be prepared for bad weather.

Following the retirement of Clerk Alison Gibson, interviews were conducted for the posts by both Tur Langton and East Langton Parish Councils. Alison has served both Councils for ten and seven years respectively. Her dedication and thoroughness have kept both Councils abreast of the regulations, updating and ensuring their smooth running as well as taking on the enormous amount of office work involved in establishing our Neighbourhood Plans. We all and thank her for her devotion to the Council and wish her a well-earned rest and enjoyment of her retirement.

From 30 September, the new opening days for the Kibworth and Market Harborough Recycling and Waste Sites will begin.
