It’s not been the finest month for Skipper Daz and his boys. But, it would be fair to say that luck hasn’t been on his side. The brightest spark was a monster victory over Lutterworth 3s with both Archie Brown (101*) and Samit Kanji (104) notching their first hundreds for the club. We’ve also seen some decent bowling performances from the pack too. But the rub of the green hasn’t been forthcoming; the promotion push has become something of a mid-table forced acceptance. There are still a few more matches to be played; so a positive finish is hoped for. This is especially as some of the younger 2s are being blooded into the mix. The future is bright boys, the future is bright.

As we reach the business end of the 2021 season, our first senior team silverware of the season has made its way back to Kibworth Cricket Club. We played Loughborough Town at Leicester County Cricket Club on a fantastic Sunday afternoon. Our 12 man squad, made up of 7 players that have come through the juniors at Kibworth Cricket Club, had a superb day winning by 8 wickets.

The season is in full flow and the club has had a great start. The 1st XI and 2nd XI both sit top of their respective divisions after nine games, with the 1st XI also moving into the Quarter Final stages of the T20 and County Cups.

The local running scene is well on the road to returning to normal with a number of members taking part in events recently. There are also fixtures in the diary for a trimmed down version of the Leicestershire Road Running League.

Kibworth Bowls Club are holding an OPEN DAY on Sunday 27th June from 10:30am to 3pm. This is open to all ages; the whole family is welcome. Please come and see our facilities and try bowling. All we need from you is your attendance wearing flat shoes or trainers. We have bowls etc. available. Tea/Coffee will be available and our Bar will be open.

On Thursday 27 May Kibworth Golf Club members Graham Thompson and John Addison completed their 12 hour, 54 hole golf challenge in aid of LOROS. The challenge was in memory of past members Nick Lacey and Rod Mitchell who sadly passed away within 24 hours of each other at LOROS Hospice last October.

This is a singles competition organised by the Lawn Tennis Association(LTA).The winner of the club competition will take part in a County competition at the beginning of July. The winner of this event will then play at Wimbledon!The competition at the club took place during half term.
