Fun Team Tennis Events for Kids

On a Saturday afternoon at the club we are running Mini/Junior Team Tennis Events for children between the ages of 6 to 18. The aim is to give as many children as possible, who attend the weekly tennis coaching sessions, the opportunity to put their coaching into practice by playing both singles and doubles matches against other children from the club who are of a similar standard. One photo shows children who took part in a “normal” Team Tennis event and the other one shows some of the children who took part in the Halloween Team Tennis Event.

Our club goes from strength to strength. Last year we had four teams in the Leicester League, and this year we have five, with several people trying their hand at League play for the first time. All are welcome to join our club, whether playing socially or competitively.

Sculpture to be formally unveiled on Armistice Day

Leicester Tigers Foundation, “When we were Tigers” Monument located at Leicester Tigers Stadium, Welford Road Plaza, is to be formally unveiled by Peter Wheeler, DL on 11 November - Armistice Day. The unveiling will commence at 10.30am. The monument commemorates and celebrates the 54 Leicester Tigers rugby players who lost their lives as a consequence of war.

Kibworth Bowls Club - September '22

The 2022 summer outdoor bowling season has been a successful one. Successes included winning the Wistow Vase - our annual local derby competition against Hart of Fleckney Bowls Club, and the Springer Cup where we beat Little Bowden in the final. We also won Division 3 of the South Leicestershire Triples League and have been promoted to Division 2 for the start of next year.

30 July 1966, was the first time it really did ‘Come Home’ for the England football team. Fast forward 56 years, after heartache and pain, England returned to its former glories. But, not in the traditional manner we would have expected it to all those years ago.
