Kibworth and District u3a orchestrates interest groups and social events for people that are no longer in full-time work.

Kibworth Village Hall committee were pleased to put on afternoon tea for some of our senior residents over the Coronation weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting them, and do hope they enjoyed the event too.

The popular Festival of Leicestershire and Rutland Archaeology returns with over 100 heritage events across the two counties.

The Kibworth Art Lovers Society held its annual exhibition on 3 and 4June, returning, for the first time since 2019, to the Kibworth Grammar School Hall. Over 200 visitors came to view more than 100 original paintings by our talented local artists and we were delighted with the public response. The vote for favourite work ‘ The Pantile’, Tunbridge Wells.

Otto is a grump who's given up on life following the loss of his wife and wants to end it all. When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol. Lead-ing to a friendship that will turn his world around.

It was a gloriously sunny day for Kibworth’s very first Yard Sale. Charlotte Price had organised the event via social media and had invited Facebook friends and neighbours to run a home ‘car boot’ sale of their unwanted goodies from their front gardens, so no rental costs involved. Charlotte included online a map of the village and a list of streets where participants could be located. Prospective purchasers toured the village on foot, in some cases looking for bargains to buy. A great day was had by all. Another event is planned for the future. Smeeton Westerby and Saddington have asked to be involved next time.

As I write this, plans are now in place for our annual ‘Brass on the Grass' event.
