MHO, Market Harborough’s very own orchestra, is preparing to give its 24th concert under the baton of Stephen Bell on Saturday 12November at 7.30pm at Market Harborough Methodist Church, Northampton Road.

Amazingly from an idea proposed in the Editorial of this publication some six weeks ago the pop up, Welcome Kitchen - a meeting place with warmth and food, has already had two successful sessions (Even though it hasn’t been that cold outside!)

After much debate and research, we are pleased to announce that our next production will be A Bunch of Amateurs by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.

With the festive season fast approaching, we are delighted to share with you the first of our Christmas events here in Smeeton Westerby.

We are proud to present an evening of music starring world-renowned soprano singer Denise Leigh. Denise has performed for the royal family, including our late queen, at several venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace. She gave a solo performance at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. She has featured on many programmes including ‘BBC Proms in the Park’, ‘Friday Night is Music Night’ and ‘Songs of Praise’. Leigh has also performed with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic and London Handel Players. She will be supported on the evening by her husband, Stefan Andrusyschyn, playing the keyboard and accordion.

Join Bridge 67 Butchers on Saturday 3 December at the Cookery School on Debdale Lane in Smeeton Westerby. From 10am-3pm we will hold a cheese and charcuterie tasting day.  There will be a fantastic range of British cheeses and charcuterie for you to try, plus a great selection of chutneys, breads, pork pies, and sausage rolls to provide some inspiration for the Christmas season. The oven and hob team will be serving their delicious cakes together with coffee from Penny’s Vintage Coffee Bar. So, pop the date in your diary, text your friends and join us down at the Cookery School for some festive cheer. Foxton’s Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 26 November. This will be in the Robert Monk Hall, Middle Street, LE16 7RH between 11am and 3pm.
