He will talk to us about his brilliant book, Bibliomaniac. Robin will also be signing copies of his book purchased at Kibworth Books. Two sittings are available for this event.

(Starting this January)

Directing this play has been a joy. So far, we have been learning lines and creating an understanding of the plot and characters within the warmth and comfort of our home. Each taking a turn at hosting the cast and offering refreshments. Joyous? Why? You may ask. Because as of January the players will be returning to the KGSH venue. We will begin the arduous part of producing a play and creating a performance for our audiences at the end of March.

With the beginning of a new year, we are starting to look forward to several exciting events that are to be held here in Smeeton at both the church and the village hall.

A large metal unit has now appeared outside the Co-op on High Street next to the defribrillator as can bee seen in the picture above. But what is it?

Smeeton Westerby’s Christmas celebrations started with a bang with our very successful Christmas Fayre. The hall looked really festive. Santa had arrived and was waiting patiently in his grotto. The stall holders had done a wonderful job setting up and displaying their goods and so all that were needed were customers! Knowing that there were other much bigger fêtes on, we opened our doors with some trepidation. However, to our great joy, so many people started arriving.

The short answer is probably “No”.
