GEMS Charity would like to thank Paul Ward of Kibworth Carpets. He and his family gave a kind donation of £719.01 in memory of Claire Ward. The online donations for which have yet to be received. This is a great amount, which goes to show how much loved Claire was. 

As part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations taking place on Smeeton Road Recreation Ground on Sunday 5 June, Kibworth Tennis Club ran free fun tennis sessions for children and adults. It was a great opportunity for children and adults to try tennis, some for the first time. Over 45 children and adults joined in the sessions and all had a good time! 

Market Harborough’s very own orchestra (MHO) is preparing to give it’s 23^rd concert under the baton of Stephen Bell. It is on Saturday 2 July 2022 at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Northampton Rd, Market Harborough. 

It’s been ten years since the village held such an event so the Foxton Gardens Society is planning a follow-up. All monies raised will go towards the repair of St Andrew’s Church roof.

What an amazing four days we have had here in Smeeton Westerby, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It all started on the Thursday evening when we congregated at the allotments on Gumley Road. We enjoyed refreshments before marching along the road and up the hill to Bungalow Farm, owned by Penny and Pete Rivett. It was here that we lit our village bonfire beacon. As the flames soared into the sky, the sun started to set. It was magical to look out into the distance and see other beacons being lit too. It gave us all a wonderful feeling of togetherness for one purpose, to celebrate the reign of her Majesty.

Another busy month for club members, involved in a variety of events around the county and further afield.

Harborough Big Band, in support of Oxfam, are proud to present ‘Swing, Shows and Soul Music’ for your entertainment on 2 July 2022, playing music from Glenn Miller to Adele for all your dancing joy, along with a cash bar to hydrate you through the evening. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start, at the Congregational Church Hall, Market Harborough. Work is picking up ahead of Blaston Show's return, after a two year break due to Covid 19. Entry schedules are now available online to compete in either agricultural or equestrian classes, or to take part in the Classic Car run.
