Creative Harborough is the town’s philanthropic network of arts and cultural organisations and businesses. They have worked with Harborough District Council and the ‘Market Harborough and The Bowdens Charity’ to facilitate a busking initiative. This aims to make it easier for local artists and young performers especially, to share their talent and animate the town.

“Use what you’re good at to change the things you care about”

On Friday 15 November Kilby Get To Know Your Neighbours held their annual skittles night at The Conservative Club in Wigston. Thirty people enjoyed a very lively evening. Thanks go to Kathy Kilsby for organising the event and everyone who helped on the night. A raffle raised £82 which was given to Kilby Woodland Trust. The winner of the men’s team was Peter Parsons and Kathy Kilsby had the highest score on the lady’s team. We would like to thank the staff at The Conservative Club for their help and for providing a lovely supper.

How time flies… it is already nine months since I relocated both my home and Chiropractic Clinic to Kibworth from Sutton Bassett and I have to say it has been a great decision.

Whilst recently helping out at Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill over Heritage Weekend - 14 and 15 September - I was given a souvenir programme from the Kibworth Festival which took place between 23 October and 31 October 1976 - 48 years ago this very month.

Reading Roger Garratt’s essay on Kibworth Beauchamp Grammar School’s incredible history in recent issues of the Chronicle has led to 10 years of The Beauchamp Magazine being handed over which make interesting reading.

If you love cheese, pop the date in your diary now. Our fabulous cheese festival is returning bigger and better this year at a new venue, Kibworth Community Hub (formerly Kibworth Grammar School Hall).

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ in Burton Overy the weekend of 29 November to 1 December. Every year, (bar Covid), since the year 2000, the villagers of Burton Overy, (and we welcome others), have filled their church with beautifully decorated and lit Christmas Trees. Over the years there have been countless tree titles and ingenious ideas around the festival’s theme.
