Wikipedia tells us that Papillon Hall, off Theddingworth Road near Lubenham, was built in about 1620 and demolished in 1950. It was located adjacent to what is now the Bramfield Park Homes site and it was built by David Papillon, (1581-1659), a French Huguenot architect and military engineer. It was an octagonal, two-storey stone house surrounded by a moat.

Completing an online survey and watching an interview made me think about communication skills.

I think of a good quote as a little nugget of practical wisdom that carries an emotional punch. The word itself comes from Latin for ‘how many’ (thus linked to quota and quotient). The original sense of it was to mark a book with numbers or marginal references, which evolved into the idea of giving a reference by page or number and from there to the current meaning of citing a text or person.

I am both dismayed and disappointed at your irresponsible decision to publish what you termed as ‘an alternative view of climate change’ based upon the letter from Steve Needham. ‘An uninformed view’ would have been a more apposite title.

The pond will have iris and king buttercups in flower providing lots of spring colour. A wide range of refreshments will be on sale.
