It’s been a quiet start to the year for Fleckney and Kibworth Running Club. Members have been attending club nights through the cold and wet weather every Tuesday and Thursday.

Not much to report this month as the main focus of the Band has been on rehearsals for the Area Contest on 2 March. Contests are the more serious side of Banding with this one being particularly important since it determines the Band’s national grading.

The venue is Kibworth Community Hub (formerly Kibworth Grammar School Hall,) School Road, Kibworth Beauchamp. Tuesday 20 February, starting at 2pm. Guests welcome. Tea and biscuits available.

With so many events happening in Smeeton Westerby over the Christmas period, we ended up with a relaxing and quiet January. However, The Kings Head came up trumps with their Burns’ Night Supper on Thursday 25 January where a three course meal was served, the main dish naturally being haggis, neeps and tatties with whisky sauce. There was a variety of whiskies to wash everything down with. Not surprisingly, a great time was had by all.
