2025 CALENDAR PHOTO COMPETITION

Do you ever wonder about the ‘District’ part of Market Harborough, and especially what life is like for our farmers? Recently I had the privilege of speaking with one of our local farmers to find out more. David (not his real name for security) talked about the challenges he had faced over the years and even more so now.

Following the great success of our Playsical, One Night Only, our two theatre groups are about to embark on rehearsals for another Murder Mystery Supper Night which will be performed in April, in Kibworth, Smeeton and some of our surrounding villages.

On 16 November, Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, approved the construction of England’s largest prison to house 1,700 prisoners on land adjacent to HMP Gartree.

Fleckney Road, Kibworth

The cafe, run by local residents, provides a choice of four delicious soups and a range of cakes. It takes place in the church on the last Saturday of the month.

Juliet Burgess-Ray, from East Midlands Army Responders, gave a very helpful, hands-on defibrillator training session in Church Langton on 9 October. Local residents attended and were shown how to access the defibrillator, what equipment is inside and how to use it. The session also included using a dummy to practice CPR. All agreed it was a very useful two hours and should be offered more widely. Especially as it is applicable for all types of defibrillator.
