Our November meeting began with an engrossing talk by Bethan and Paul from the Samaritans. As we know, they are an emotional support charity, there for anyone needing help and someone to talk to. There are over 200 branches and some 23,000 volunteers around the country, the Leicester branch covering Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

Book a tree collection with Norton and Gaulby YFC. All trees will be collected between Saturday 4 January, 9amand Sunday 5 January, 6pm.

After Harborough Town’s FA Cup victory vs Tonbridge, Leonard, a Kibworth Primary School pupil, declared that, “I’m going to get a ‘pick in the box’ at school for really good reading.” A ‘pick in the box’ is a box of treats pupils at Leonard’s school are rewarded with  for very good work. Leonard continued, “I’m going to pick a trophy and give it to the Harborough Town keeper at the Reading match, to say well done for doing really well.” True to Leonard’s word, a few days later he returned home with the trophy he’d selected, which he’d earned for very good reading.

KGC has been buzzing with excitement as two junior golfers have achieved remarkable milestones, earning the opportunity to compete on the international stage.

Illston-on-the-Hill WI held their AGM in November. The meeting was conducted efficiently and all business was dealt with in a timely manner.
