The electrification project for the Midland Mainline north of Market Harborough has begun.  Three secure compounds have been created – South Wigston, Wistow Road (Kibworth Harcourt) and East Langton. These compounds are for delivery of materials, access and welfare and the cabins are solar powered.

Kibworth resident Janet Davis is passionate about family history and sharing her research experience. Her love affair with her family’s past began 25 years ago, when she recalled that her Nan remembered having had a brother. Her Nan was born in a workhouse, where she was left orphaned. Years later, Janet delved into the mystery and established that there had indeed been a brother.

Although they describe themselves as “enthusiastic amateurs”, there was nothing amateurish about the presentation given by Julie and Ian Harrison. They detailed Kibworth area’s wildlife at Kibworth Community Library on 1st September.
