Our Macmillan coffee morning proved to be a great success making £485 for this excellent cause. The village hall was transformed into a charming café with round tables decorated with vases of flowers beautifully created by Nicola Hopkinson. Busily making the tea and coffee, and of course serving the obligatory cakes, were Philippa Britten and Jacqui Taylor. I had the lovely job of being host and welcoming everyone as they arrived.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now.

Buildings archaeologist James Wright of Triskele Heritage has recently completed an historic graffiti survey of Kibworth Harcourt Windmill. The work took place as part of a conservation project by the landowners – the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. The mill is of special significance as it is the only post mill in Leicestershire.

Local Youth Projects are very excited to announce a new youth club for the younger people of Fleckney. 11 to 16 year olds can come along to the Baptist Church Hall on Main Street, Fleckney. The club will run on Wednesday evenings, during term time, from 7pm to 8.15pm.

Schools are back, summer is drawing to a close and there’s been a lot of change at The Well over the last few months.
